On Saturday, 28 May 2016, we will be celebrating our 13th IFD! It will be a fabulous event for the whole family. Planning is in full swing, and anyone who is interested in getting involved or helping us can contact me.

Net profits of our fun-filled day will support the following charities:

09:00 - Coupons and raffle ticket sales, Lucky Draw opens

10:00 - Official Welcome by IFD Chair and School

10:10 - Parade of Nations on the field.

The Parade of Nations is a colorful spectacle of traditional costumes, national anthems, flags and a little healthy rivalry. All students, staff and families are asked to wear their nationality’s clothing on the day of the event and participate in the parade.

11:00 - Food Booth, Games, Entertainment open

11:30 - 1st Grand Prize Raffle Draw in foyer

12:15 - IFD Cheque presentation to Charities

Coupons are sold in sheets of 10 for 50 RMB and will be sold everyday beginning 4 May, 2016 in the foyer each afternoon after school as well as at any parent meeting or event up to the day. Please click here to access a timetable of where and when they will be sold.

You will need coupons for Food Booths, Games, Tombola and Elementary Baskets.  No cash will be accepted in these areas.

At the IFD merchandise stand you will be able to use either cash or coupons.

How many coupons do you need?

As an example, at the USA Food  Booth, you will be able to purchase

  • Hotdog - 2 coupons
  • Bag of chips - 2 coupons
  • Dessert (e.g. cup cake or biscuit) - 1-3 coupons
  • Can of drink - 2 coupons

Each of the games in the Elementary gym will cost 1 coupon. Tickets for the Tombola are 2 tickets - 1 coupon and 5 tickets - 2 coupons. To have a guess in the Elementary Baskets estimation game is 1 guess - 2 coupon and 3 guesses - 5 coupons.


Raffle tickets are 2 tickets for 50 RMB snd will be sold everyday beginning 4 May, 2016 in the foyer each afternoon after school as well as at any parent meeting or event up to the day. Please click here to access a timetable of where and when they will be sold.

Our major prizes include hotel stays and dinner vouchers for Hyatt Regency, Pan Pacific, Regalia and Four Points by Sheraton, gym memberships, electrical appliances such as student lamps, vacuums, blenders and air purifiers, cinema tickets, jewellery, dental examinations, a foldable bike and many more.

In addition the first 400 pairs of tickets placed in the draw on the day is guaranteed to win a prize..



Over 100 vendors will be selling their wares. Everything from clothing to gifts to homewares to toys. The favourites will be there including U-Living, Bodyfit 25, Mandarin House, C2C Movers, and SharkNinja.

Applications for vendors have now closed.  

Food Booths

This year delicious food and drink from 18 different countries including Italy, Japan, Thailand, Turkey and the USA will be available plus local restaurants and cafes including the Harry’s Bar, Wawa Wewe, The Cottage Bakery Café, Bread Castle, Kiwi Craze and Snow White icecream.

Games & Tombola

This is the place to be. Come to the Elementary Gym and Field between 11 am – 3 pm for more fun that you can handle.

Grade Level Games (run by students):

  • Crazy Hair (Grade 6) Wacky hairdos are created on the spot by inspired hair stylists
  • Sponge Toss (Grade 6) Wet sponges are thrown at live targets; your favorite teacher could be one. Stand behind the line, player gets three chances to hit a target with a wet sponge. If player succeeds, they receive a prize ticket.
  • Splat the Rat (Grade 7) Players have to anticipate when the water balloon will appear at the bottom of the tube and try to splat it with a cricket bat. If you’re successful you win a prize ticket.
  • Plinko (Grade 7) Drop a disk from the top into a slot with a star and win a ticket.
  • Obstacle Course (Grade 8) Fun run over and through soft cushioned obstacles.
  • Potty Toss (Grade 8) Throw a roll of toilet paper into toilet.
  • Shoot It Out (Grade 9) Knock over targets using a water gun, player stands behind line and gets 10 seconds to knock over the pyramid of cups. One prize ticket is awarded if successful.
  • Quai Toss (Grade 9) Toss a quai (dollar coin) from behind a line to attempt to land onto a marker. Player stands behind line and is handed three quai.Throwing one quai at a time, they attempt to land the inside of the colored dots. One prize ticket for each quai that lands inside a dot.
  • Face Painting / Tattoos (Grade 10) Designs and patterns using harmless paints and markers are used to make individual creations.
  • Photo Booth (Grade 11) A fun way for you to take photos with your friends to share the memory of IFD.
  • Lollipop Tree (Grade 11) Pull a lollipop from the tree and if it’s marked you win a ticket.
Other games and services include:

  • Tombola - The always popular lucky draw game
  • Water Activity - The Secondary Student Council will be running a water activity from 1.00 to 3.00 pm. The activity will be suitable for students in Kindergarten to Grade 12. Students are likely to get quite wet during the activity. If your child is likely to participate in this activity can we recommend you bring a change of clothes with you.
  • Parkway Health - First Aid

Country Baskets

We have over 37 countries participating in the Country Baskets this year, either with a dedicated country basket or products from their home country in an international basket. Over 36 baskets will be sold in a silent auction. Please find your way over to the Country Baskets room and make your bid and bring home your prize and experience flavours from another country.

IFD Merchandise

2016 IFD merchandise will be available for sale on the day.

  • Baseball cap (youth and adult sizes available) - 50 RMB
  • Can cooler - 15 RMB
